SS 316 PIPE FITTINGS – PIPE END PRESSURE RATINGS
The pressure ratings of fittings which have both pipe & tube fitting ends and pipe thread ends are the lesser pressure rating of either end connection. Pressure ratings for male and female pipe thread ends for the following chart: Pipe End Pressure Ratings. It follows that to have the same pressure rating for female and male pipe threads in the same nominal pipe size, the fitting would have to have a heavier wall thickness on the female thread end, which makes the fitting too large and bulky.
